[Error Code] E110-410 - Intermittent on ir c3220 printer (non-copier)

IR C3220 that is a stand alone printer, no copy/scanner fuctionality, throwing an intermittent error of E110-410. Power cycle the machine won't clear but, removing the K drum and reinserting before restarting, ALWAYS clears. The machine will perform for sometimes 100 prints or 1000 prints before error returns. Have switched K drum as well but doesn't seem to matter.

Would the K laser throw intermittent error like this? I was thinking maybe an over-heating situation somewhere perhaps.

The black laser is the reason for the 110

    Replace it.

Follow the procedure after replacing the laser. Its important.

Are you going to do this. And, are you tech?

Screwtape- I once had a bad FUSE PCB also cause this/ learned it hard way, by first replacing one of the lasers/ pointed to fix by Canon teacher friend.

Quick try and Swap the affected laser unit with others. Something I should have done,-Brain Freeze

Check whether or not the sub code of E110 will be changed.
      - If the sub code is changed, the laser unit is faulty. So, replace it with a new one.
      - If the sub code is not changed, it is possible that the DC controller PCB is faulty

          Thanks Screwtape.

No, I'm not a trained tech, just a business owner that has a lot of specialty equipment that normally requires a tech to be flown out for repairs. We learn to do as much as possible on our own. Most mechanical things I can fix and I'm not afraid to dive in to some basic electronics. Before posting anything on this site I've read through the service manual, looked through other posts and done as much research as possible looking for solutions. If something just seems too daunting a task for myself I'll call out the pro and pay the $300 for the hour long service call.

I have a c3220, c3200 (copier/c1/fax) and a spare parts c3200. Also have a ir7200 with a spare ir8500. A couple OKI/PHASER/XEROX c9300/7300 laser printers and a Riso 3770. I keep most of them working but I don't use any of this equipment the way it was meant to be used. Or perhaps, better put, how it would LIKE to be used. The local service company wouldn't give me a service contract because the printing I do is out of spec with Canon. So, here I am, paying full price service and parts to keep things moving along when necessary.

Now, with all that said, I will try switching the lasers and see if the error follows the laser or not. That is, once I get the jobs off the machine that are currently running. And, yes, I'll make sure I do a laser adjust when I'm done. Thanks!!!

Thanks Teckat. Funny, but I just opened a pdf that I saved of your response to someone else about a month or two ago regarding their similar situation. I must have saved it out but forgot about it. Sometimes doing searches on this forum is diffy because not everyone tags things the same or lists error codes the same etc.

I'll let you know what happens after I do the swap. Maybe tomorrow or Monday.
              thanks

Do the swap. If it carries on, then you have a bad laser.
There not that hard to get too.

Or swap one laser from the of the other 3200
