    Canon Ir 210 By pass

When using the by pass I occasionally have paper jams. What seems to happen is the pick up roller will not go down and get the paper causing a jam.
Then sometimes it fine and will feed 20 sheets in a row. Not sure where to go. Thanks Kurt

A jam code would be helpful, but would require going into service mode. I would be looking at Rollers and Pad in the Bypass before anything else. Try cleaning with Rubber Rejevenator to see if that gives you more consistant pick-up, with intent to replace them. However, most Bypass issues are timing/cam issues cause by cracked Trays. Check for the hinge areas on the foldout tray, and also where the plate that 'pops' up to bring the paper to the pick-up roller. A broken hinge or loose plate will cause this plate not to 'pop' or the cam not to reset properly. If the paper appears to be being pulled in correctly and then bunching up, you may have something in the path. Make sure your path is clear (no labels, loose parts). Good luck sir. Please post your findings.
