    IRC4085 Jamming at finisher inlet

Getting finisher jam code 0109. I'm out from office for a couple days and could use some help on this one. Machine works fine with finisher disconnected, but not at all with it attached. I'm guessing entrance sensor of some kind. TIA

Is it a constant type of jam or intermit?

A jam code would be helpful. Really need more information to help you diagnose the problem. If the finisher is attatched and the paper just wads up leaving the copier at the sorter inlet guide and there is no obstruction in the paper path - it makes me wonder if the copier is not recognizing that the sorter is installed. Does the finisher show up on the control panel?

        CHECK YOUR Finisher INLET SENSOR

ok------its possible the copier does ok with no sorter because the copies are delivered face up. perhaps its when the sorter is attatched the machine is trying to feed them to be delivered face down. Check the face down delivery sensor and anything else associated with face down delivery.

Like I said in initial post its jam code 0109 location 2 which should be finisher. Every copy as it enters the finisher jams. I just have to get back there and troubleshoot the inlet sensor. Single or double sided is the same. Finisher does show up on control panel.

Is the finisher connected for starters?

Check the interface cable for damage.

Does the finisher power up, do the tray move up and down when power up everything.

The machine is not recognizing the finisher that's your problem.

              Check your finisher controller pcb

check and make sure that the flag on your vertical path (PS 6) I think is not stuck or that the spring has come loose causing your jam code. This was common on the 3200 series.

Charm5496 hit it on the head. Flag was stuck. All is good.
