Print Settings - Canon IR 5000

Did a Check HD on my IR 5000 and unit concluded with an OK!. Now when I'm sending a print command for a file containing 20 pages or so of scanned pages, it only prints the 1st page. MS Word documents have no problem printing entire document. IR5000 had no problem printing the document before the Check HD procedure.

Might anyone happen to know if there's a setting that I have to reset. Tried different computers hooked to the IR5000 on the network and all have the same result (doesn't seem to be a driver problem).

    Thank you.

What was your reason for running the HDD check? Did it go smoothly, or did you have any interruptions, such as a power outage or anything else unusual?

Word files tend to be small, so they may be printing without the HDD ever coming into play.

Scanned files, on the other hand, tend to be much larger, so that the HDD is called upon when printing them.

Test your HDD by using the Mailbox feature to test it out. (Don't be shy, hit it with a bunch of files.) If there's an issue, then you have a HDD problem, despite the fact that it replies with an OK.

        Thanks for your replies guys.

Yes, had a power interruption during the 1H45M normal period for check hard disk. Was able to fix the problem by resetting the memory settings. Had bunch of stuff in the memory that was preventing it from freely printing.

BTW, might you know how to change the default for the type of file the copier sends - options are MTIFF, TIFF & PDF. Wanted to change from TIFF to MTIFF.

        Thank you.

You can change the standard settings for the Send function, including Scanning Mode and File Type.
          The standard default settings are:

          -Scanning Mode:Black 200dpi
          -File Type: TIFF
          To change the settings:
          1. Call up the desired screen as follows:
          • Additional Functions -> Communication Settings -> Edit Standard Send Settings
          -or-
          • Additional Functions -> Communication Settings -> Common Settings TX Settings - > Edit Standard Send Settings

          2. Under [Scanning Mode], select the mode you want to set as Standard Settings. When the desired scan mode is not displayed, press the up or down arrow key. You can also set a scanning mode you stored.
          3. From the File Type drop-down list, select the file type you want to use and press [OK].
          • Types of files:
          • TIFF: Sends images in TIFF format
          • MTIFF: Inserts multiple images in a single file. Scanned images can be sent in MTIFF format.
          • PDF: Inserts multiple images in a single PDF file. Scanned images can be sent in PDF format.
          • JPEG: Sends images in JPEG format. Only available on Color-enabled copiers and when scanning a single page or select Divide into Pages option.

          • To view a TIFF or MTIFF file, an application that supports TIFF or MTIFF (such as Imaging for Windows) is required.
          • To view a PDF file, Acrobat Reader is required.

          4. PPress [Done].
To To return to the Standard mode immediately press (Reset).

            Check out the attached file.

It's 2 pages extracted from the iR5000 Sending Guide.
