    You need software!

Don't you have it. You said you change software.

Firmware is not going to change it back to a N or C

The SST can distinguish between versions on this model.

In order to have a N chip, there must be a printer kit installed.

        Why do you need firmware?

IRC,CLC.. These are both the same machines.

Either one can be a v70.01N.

the 3200 with the C Boot Rom should have a Firey connected

the 3200 with the N Boot Rom should have the Multi-PDL Kit installed / & No Fiery

u can not mismatch C and N Firmware when updating , the SST will not let you

did u swap the BOOT ROM's / if so put them back to the correct printers

*****only on the iRC3220 there is no distinction between N or C version in the Service Support Tool.

                  Why thank you.

                  Good name.

                  But I hate cable ties.
I refer them as wire ties.

                  LOL.

The C Boot Rom that is used without a Fiery/ is to have the 3200 used as a Copier only .

U can not update a C Boot Rom to a N Boot Rom

The N Boot Rom only comes in a Multi PDL Kit- A1 for iR3200

                        imageRunner C3200

                        Color Network Multi-PDL Printer Kit-A1

There are various items located in the Color Network Multi-PDL Printer Kit-A1.

When the Multi-PDL Printer Kit-A1 is sent,
inside is the UFR board and Network Boot DIMM .
The UFR board and the Network Boot DIMM.

The -N- Networking Boot DIMM is necessary for the Canon controller, and the -C- Copier Boot DIMM is necessary for the imagePASS-C1 and the C3200 copier-only model.

**DO NOT THROW AWAY ANY OF THE BOOT DIMM’S. The Networking Boot DIMM is necessary for the Canon controller, and the Copier Boot DIMM is necessary for the imagePASS-C1 and the C3200 copier-only model.

When installing the Network Boot DIMM, u should place Copier Boot DIMM behind the service cover, inside the front door cover.
                        Service Cover
                        .

To utilize the Color imageRUNNER C3200 for printing, there are several possibilities.
Print functionality can be added to the Main Controller of the copier by installing the Color Network Multi-
                        PDL Printer Kit-A1.
Alternately, this functionality can be added by utilizing an imagePASS-C1. These are
mutually exclusive items – only one printing kit can be utilized. Both kits provide 10/100Base-T Ethernet
                        connectivity.

Color Network Multi-PDL Printer Kit-A1 comes with an UFR Board (Ultra Fast Rendering Board) that needs to be installed in the Color imageRUNNER C3200.
This board is installed in the slot on the Main Controller underneath the Ethernet PCB.

The imagePASS-C1 requires that an Open Interface Board be installed in the Color imageRUNNER C3200.
This PCB is included with the imagePASS-C1 and is also installed in the slot on the Main Controller underneath the Ethernet PCB.
Since both printing kits require a different PCB be installed in the same slot of the Main Controller, the printing kits are mutually exclusive – only one can be installed at a time.

Network scanning will be possible if either printing kit is installed

                        UNIVERSAL SEND:
The Universal Send functionality of the Color imageRUNNER C3200 is enabled by use of the Color
Universal Send Kit-A1P. The Resolution Switching Board-A1 is also REQUIRED for the Universal Send
                        functionality.
