    #801 IRC2380 send

    Hi All

I have 2 irc 2380 on the same network but different segments. The one scan to mail fine. The other one gives me #801 send error. The firmware etc are the same .The send/network settings are the same except for ipadress/gateway and DNS server adress. The client is running exchange server .

    Any ideas are welcome

    Regards

I know you have to be on the same subnet for TWAIN scanning to work, but if you can ping the exchange server you shouldn't have any problems sending email.
I assume you get no reply when you ping the exchange server from the 2380?

What are the subnet mask and gateway addresses?

If you can't get communication outside your subnet you may be using the wrong gateway address. The default gateway is usually the router and ends in .1 but on your network the device with the address of .1 might not know how to send traffic outside the network. The device acting as the router could be the DNS or DHCP server.

Try getting the gateway address from a PC on the same segment with the "ipconfig /all" command. If it is the same as the one that doesn't work try the DNS ip address.

      Hi DLP

The problem is I can ping exchange server. Ive tried using an ip adress instead of smtp.xyz.net. with the same result. The green light on the machine flashes 3 times then comes on and dies. There is a prompt on the machine " check server". The machine prints a report with no error code. If you go onto the RUI and check the log you can see the error

why don't you just export the settings from the good machine(via rui) import into the other machine then change ip address back?

This would be the easiest way.

          Good suggestion.

4 hours later and some arswipe put a space in the DNS host name. I made it a unique name without spaces and bobs your uncle.
