I have a Canon LC3170 that is flashing the message check printer. I have removed the paper drawer, fuser and cartridge and there is no jam. Switches seem to be working properly. I am not sure what else to look for. Any help would be appreciated. The machine is set up only to send and recieve faxes.

Are you seeing an error code? i.e. "##322"If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

If there are no other error messages, you must have a paper feed flag actuated somewhere or a door open. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:

Wow! I haven't thought about that in years. Is that softswitch defaulted to Off when new? All the machines that left our location must have been changed at setup.
If the wrong paper size is loaded (tray not programmed to the correct size), the error will clear, but jam again immediately. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
