TIPS:
imageRUNNER C5180 Series
1.Symptom: 2nd Side Image Registration is off: Lead and Trail
Registration moves when doing 2-sided printing/copying.
When printing or copying high density color products and
using 2-sided printing, the 2nd side lead and trail registration
varies causing the image to go off the page.
Solution: REG-SPD (SERVICE MODE (Level 2) > COPIER >
OPTION > BODY>REG-SPD: "Fine adjustment (Plain paper) of
the Registration Roller speed”) is a new service mode setting that
has been introduced to improve Second Side Mis-Registration
image shift.
Execute the fine adjustment of Registration Roller speed in
this mode to improve:
The second side of a printed or copied document has shifted
out of specification (2.5 +/- 2.0mm leading edge margin on the
2nd side). Setting values>5 to + 5 (Default factory setting/ value
after RAM clear: 0) Increasing (decreasing) the setting value by
"1" accelerate (decelerate) the delivery speed of the roller by
"0.5%". (Example: Changing the value from 0 to - 2 decelerates
the speed by 1.0 %.)
2.imageRUNNER C5180 Series
Symptom: Error Code E007-0001 or E007-0002 are displayed
and cannot be cleared.
Error Code E007-0001 refers to the inability of the upper
fixing belt to properly align itself according to the upper alignment
sensor. Error Code E007-0002 refers to the inability of the
lower pressure belt to properly align itself according to the lower
alignment sensor. Both of these codes can be attributed to badly
worn/stripped 14T Pinion Gears and/or their mating Fan Gears.
Solution: Replace both 14T Pinion Gears with their metal replacements,
part number FU7-0742-000 and also check their mating
Fan Gears for wear and replace them if necessary. Part numbers
for the Fan Gears are shown below. Once replaced,
install the fixing assembly and be sure to clear the error codes:
(COPIER>FUNCTION>CLEAR>ERR) and recycle power.
Once the fixing assembly is warmed up and the copier is at a ready
state, perform the following: COPIER>FUNCTION>
FIXING>FX-UHP-S and FX-LHP-S. Both must show OK!
