    [Electrical] M3 fiery problem

got a customer with a m3 fiery on a 105+ . they have been running big jobs 2 to 4,000 prints at once. situation is that the m3 sits there " waiting" and no response from any buttons and goes back to waiting after turned off and on. Seems like a hard drive problem but i wondered if there is any other ideas

Are they BIG files? Ya might have to wait for the Fiery to raster them. I've seen something like this YEARS ago.
Color is not 4 times harder... it's 65,000 times harder. They call it "TECH MODE" for a reason. I have manual's and firmware for ya, course... you are going to have to earn it.

First start with software. If that works, your good. If not, then check hardware. Memory,HDD,PCBS.

          to add on SCREWTAPE'S post>>

Unplug & take off cover of M3 - clean out all the dust / dust clogging components can cause overheating,& slow performance with these Fiery's.

I see no mention on what types of files these are.

I've had a few ornery PDFs that would bomb like this when printed with older versions of Acrobat or Reader.

I had the customer update to the latest version of Adobe Reader (now 9.3.3) and the problem went bye-bye.

I ended up replacing the hard drive loaded with new system software ( nationwide board repair) plugged it in and good to go. thanks for the replies.
