    Canon IR 1023/BLANKS

AS usaual I only have veey limited experiece on this machine.Toner is full and mag roller is turning. There is no image on drum in any mode(print, fax or copy)except for line on rear side of copy due to line on drum.drum is worn, and i wanted to get deedback before I ordered drum unit.Is drum unit failure common on thsese machines, and should I order entire unit or just drum and blade?Any other possibilites that you are familiar with with this model?
    THANKS< ANDY

This series uses the GPR-22 Drum unit.

The item number is 0388B003AA and will yield approximately 26,900 impressions.

    Is the meter past 26,000.

        Try the drum then.

Has the drum been replaced before?

Is this a 1022 / 1024 variant? Not familiar with 1023 model number. If the drum looks pretty beat up , is the black laser shutter tab complete?
Although this would normal give an e100 , I have had it not and give blanks. I take it there are no errors in the history? But as said , try a new drum / one from another machine to rule this out.

I have also had the following give blanks / very feint prints - Transfer Bias connector bent back , a faulty dev giving blanks ( an a newish 15k machine ) , Dev racking lacking enough pressure ( this was giving very feint not blanks )
I also had a ribbon connector go inside the machine , but cant for the life of me remember what it was other than it was giving blanks.

But I bet young Mr Screwtape will be bang on the money with the drum.

              Hi,
Thanks for tips. The tech who was there before me from another CO. He cleared the entire memory ,so I have nothing tpo go on.I just ordered a drum unit. ill let you know. i dont think this machine uses developer. it looks like the office version of the imageclass Mf6550 which uses a Drum/Toner cartridge ,but is monotone. Im guessing this is monotone machine w/o developer.
              thanks Andy

                  Just googled the model..
Certainly looks the same as a 1022/1024 ...so yes drum and separate dev.
