Canon W8400 stuck on 'Nozzel check'

    Hi all

I have a Canon W8400 that gets stuck on power up with: "offline - nozzle check"
    stays that way for hours.

Can anyone help me get through this problem?

    Many thanks

What steps have you taken to diagnose this problem? Are you experienced on this model? The nozzles are part of the printhead on Canon bubblejet printers. This model uses the BC-1350 printhead. I would start by inspecting/cleaning that part and or replacing it if you deem necessary.

These units don't like to sit idle for long period of time---ink needs to regularly cycle thru printheads. Has this machine not been used for a while?

It is also possible that you need to replace both print heads (not cheap). If you are not a tech for this series, about all you could try is run both A and B cleanings several times, then run the nozzle check. If those do not fix the problem, call a tech - but odds are you will need new print heads.
