Re: Canon IR3300 error code E000733-0001
Well, after 6 years, I'm back. Flicking the on/off switch a few times would eventually clear the problem and I've been able to use the copier since first posting this issue. But for the last two days, it just will not clear. Has any new info been uncovered that might help me correct this problem without replacing parts?
Is there a service manual available somewhere that I can reference to find out where the various components are?
Thanks and regards,
Rob

Unlikely...
Unlikely. The only effect you would get from noise on the phone line is slow transmission & reception times. On this machine 15 to 20 seconds is normal. The error that you are getting as a communication error with the DC controller. And yes, dirty power can come & go at various times of the day depending on the sort of power loads turning on & off.
When I first came across this problem Canon hotline suggested ganging up two ESP Surge Suppressors. I made no difference whatsoever.Leave a comment:

Guest repliedWell, this morning I turned it on and it decided to work. Could be the weather last night put more noise on the power lines than normal. I did look up the HV power supply that your suggested and Exec Color has it for $302. Not bad when you consider what the machine is probably worth.
One last question. Is there any chance that noise could be coming thru the phone line? This machine has a fax built into it. I disconnected the phone line last night because it answers my phone if I don't, and it was still disconnected this morning when I fired it up and it worked.

Guest repliedThanks for the quick reply. I was hoping this would be something that was an easy fix. Is there any kind of filter that can be plugged into the wall to help prevent the noise from upsetting the system?

Dirty, Dirty Power.
These machines started doing this right away when new. I had one that the customer made a particular fit over, at a factory. I started asking around if they ever had brownouts/power disturbances. They said no-never. So I asked in the adjoining offices. Thier answer was "You mean like fluorescent ligts flickering, computer monitors getting wavy patterns, etc. etc....All the time!"
Electrical noise from the AC wall power passes through the line filter (surge protector), the switching regulated PCB (AC power supply), and the HV power supply, interrupting communication between the main controller and the DC controller.
E000733-0001, or "Check Power Source" indication after 1 print. The error resets, and reoccurs 3 to 4 times per day. It starts Immediately after set-up on the customer site.Replace the HV power supply (FG6-5773-000) and the switching regulated PCB (FH3-2613-020) as a set. The new style power supplies seem to do a better job of filtering out the noise.Leave a comment:

Canon IR3300 error code E000733-0001
Hi,
First, it is great to find this site.
My copier has been giving me the subject error. It did clear after it was left off for awhile, but it came back again today and will not go away no matter how many times I turn it on and off.
I did a search here for that code and did not find anything.
Is this something I can fix. Can you please tell me what it means?
Thanks,
