E 602 0003 error code in IR2200

I believe that means the hard drive has bad sectors. Hitting number 1 + 9 at the same time and powering on puts it into download mode and it stays there. Anybody know where I can go from here?!

replace the hd
you will need to format and load the system software with the canon service support tool. you can try holding down the 1@9 keys then power up the machine. this will start check disk do not turn off the machine untill it is finished. the screen will have little blocks falling down.

Is it straight forward formating and loading the system? I can attach a harddrive with a parallel cable which I believe has the support tool on it, is this the way its usually done?

You'll need to connect to the machine with a PC or Laptop using a Parallel cable. (Bi-Centric) You have to have the SST loaded on the PC or laptop and the System Software Registered into the SST to connect and perform all loads and utilities.

The SST is loaded on my laptop - 'the System Software Registered into the SST' - can you tell me what that means and how I do that?

kloning the hardisk

To klon the hardisk..
u must have the hardisk i r 2 200 on good working an d the hardisk blank in same models. (toshiba 2'5").

use your windows xp to klon the harddisk.. (unde r win d ow s)

You need a Canon Software Utility called the Service Support Tool. It's use to access the Canon device and format the HDD or load System Software or Flash System Software.

turn off the ciopier, connect a bicentronics parallell cable to the copier. restart the copier holding down 2 & 8 buttons on the control panel. The "download mode" will appear on the copier screen. Then start the service support tool version 3.35, next on the far right, down arrow to ir2200, highlight, choose hd format version,(example) 13 , look at the top of the service support tool window, make sure it says "Bi-Centro",then click start,follow the prompts click ok. Note:Always say yes and start and hightlight stuff.Then when that is done go back and do the same, except this time you will choos "ALL" under the machine you are doing. Example if it is a networked copier version an ir2200N, then choose "ALL" under the "N" model else choose the regualr ir2200 "ALL". When done exit the tool, turn off the copier and restart the copier. You will lose any information in the mailboxes.
You can try installing the software without the hard drive format "HD" if it is not a new one, and you want to try and save the info in mailbox, otherwise just format and install. If that doesn't work, just get another hard drive and go throught this procedure. Also the support tool has an instruction guide you can download and use. hope this helps

Suspension of a write operation to
the boot device has been detected.

Remedy

1. Find the sector for which the write operation
has been suspended; then, execute recovery
operation.

1-1 The machine will not permit the use of
service mode; go through the following:

1-2 Turn off the power. Then, turn on the power
while holding down on the 1 and 9 keys so that
the repair routine for the sector for which the
write operation was suspended will
automatically start up and the screen will turn
solid black.

1-3 Wait for about 40 to 50 min. There will soon
be an indicator of progress of work. The screen
will turn solid white when the routine ends.

1-1 Set 'CHK-TYPE-0', and execute 'HDCHECK'
(50 to 50 min); thereafter, turn off and
then back on the main power switch.

2. If the symptom still exists after the foregoing,

back on the main power switch.

3. If the symptom still exists after the foregoing,
suspect a fault on the HDD, and replace the HDD
and re-install the system software.

Try reseating the boot rom,dcon and main controller..if no,run hdd check..if no,format hdd then re-install system software..if no,ram clear dcon and main controller(run p-print first if you can). If this doesn't fix it install a new hdd and system software

Hi Im Karthick,

I 'm facing the same problem E602-003in my ir3300 copier would you please suggest me how to resolve that.

As you said in your previous post. Now i,m having parallel cable which helps to connect my copier to my PC and SST V2.01. now I 'ON' my copier it went in to download mode. my PC detected my copier after that if i start my SST i cant see my copier. would you please suggest me how can i proceed further.
