I'm looking at an iPF6100 with a "close upper cover" error (obviously, the upper cover is closed). It will not initialize, it will not enter service mode, it will not shut down (unless you unplug it). Here is how the problem came about:
1) Unit ran out of yellow and PGY inks
2) Inks replaced several months later
3) Error message (L Head overtemp)
4) Entered service mode, started printhead replacement routine)
5) Error message (maintenance tank full).
6) Powered down.
7) Tried to power back up - frozen at multi sensor error
8) Powered down
9) Tried to power back up - frozen at "close upper cover" error. Would not shut down with power button
10) Booted to firmware update mode. Used L Printer service tool to update from firmware version 1.36 to 1.39. Firmware update was successful (unit powered off when finished)
11) Tried to power back up - frozen at "close upper cover" error
Does anybody know how to recover from this?
