One of my copiers displays error code E0005, which is to change the fuser cleaning roller. Does anybody know how to change a fuser cleaning roller? Could i do it or should have a vendor come change it?

it would be best to have someone come in so they can look over the fuser ect...

Compared to the newer Canons, this machine is a pain to change the web. You have to pull the fuser out of the lhs of the copier unlike the 5K series and above that just slide out to you. If you have a service manual it can be done, but if you've never done it or seen it done then call someone who knows how.

Why you do not call a tech to fix your copier?

if you just clear the counter and not change the web... you can destroy your fuser... I fuser rebuilt on that model is alot of money.

If you change the cleaning web yourself, and put it on reverse (which is easy to do) that will also destroy your fuser roller.


This is best left to a technician. It would be MUCH cheaper than destroying your fixing assembly.
