    2880 with issues

    Hi,
got a 2880 with serious issues..

Has had system board problems constantly, one of the guys here put another one in it, it worked for a few days, now when you turn the power on, the power light comes on, you can hear a click from the rear of the machine and thats all..

oh and theres 2 red lights on on the system board..

but other than that its dead!

    any ideas??

Did you check the power in the outlet. Make sure that there is good ground before you start to work on it . I would remove all consumiables, Like the drum, fuser unit, DV unit , transfer unit. most likely its probably a bad board. but you have to meter the board that is going bad check and see if you have the correct voltage going in. I had this problem once and it was bad DC board. Good Luck

usually we'd just switch parts to find out which it is, but the only ones we have are sold lol so cant really.. lol..

was thinking probably a power supply problem within the copier.

      will take a look tomorrow..

Check the DC power supply PCB.
That's where the AC is converted to DC...AC in...DC out.
Check the AC side to see what's going in and check the DC going out...make sure you've got 24v where it needs to be...a lot of these issues relate to dropping 24v somewhere.
