    HP Designjet Z6200 fans keep humming away ??

    Hi All
    I have a brand new install on a HP Designjet Z6200m, all running fine except the fans are constantly humming away to themselves......
    no apparent issues and all rest of system tests out fine.
    as a dealer we are new to these beasts but any advice would be appreciated.

    (p.s. we have some guys booked for the course in germany)

      Are you talking about the vacuum fans?

      If you take a normal cut sheet of paper and lay it on the platen, is there a constant vacuum that sucks the paper down? If this is the case, that's odd.. those fans should power down when the unit is idle. I can't think of what would cause them to run constantly.

      Or are you talking about the fans in the back, such as the CPU and PSU fans? The CPU fan can be noisy; take the back panel off and have a look at it. I've found them lose and also with wires touching the fan. It's a basic CPU heatsink fan.. 20MM.. it's easily replaced if it's bad.
