    Colorlaserjet CP2025

Can some one help me out here, where exactly is the color registration sensor located on this model? I am experiencing color and or black misalignment and am getting nowhere.

This shows were sensor is . To replace sensor you have to remove all the panels from printer ,remove hv power supply from left side of printer, as wire harness for color misregistration sensor goes up left side across top and to dc controller. check event log for 54.xx errors (color plane errors), clean sensor, do a calibration also make sure you have hp oem cartridges (running across more generic toner that do not work in hp printers and proper color registration. Also possible ITB is slipping ?

HP Color LaserJet CP2025 Series Printer - Replace the Intermediate Transfer Belt (ITB)

    ITB removal
    Reinstall the ITB
    Parts return

    ITB removal

    • Remove the print-cartridge drawer.
    • Open the front door, and then remove two screws (callout 1).
    • Carefully rotate the color misregistration sensor away from the ITB.
CAUTION: The sensor is still attached to the left side of the product and cannot be completely removed.

    • Disconnect one connector (callout 2).
    • Carefully lift up on the front of the ITB to release it.
CAUTION: Avoid touching the black plastic transfer belt. Skin oils on the belt might cause print-quality problems. Lift the ITB as shown below by using the hard-plastic edges of the ITB.

    • To release the ITB, you might have to pen the rear door, and carefully lift up on the sheet-metal portion (callout 3).
CAUTION: Avoid touching the black plastic transfer belt. Skin oils on the belt might cause print-quality problems.

NOTE: You might need to reach in through the front door and support the front portion of the ITB to keep it from falling back into place as you perform this step.

    • Carefully pull the ITB straight out of the product to remove it.
CAUTION: Avoid touching the black plastic transfer belt. Skin oils on the belt might cause printquality problems. Handle the ITB as shown below.

    Reinstall the ITB

Use this procedure to verify that the ITB is correctly reinstalled.
    • Use the control panel to print a Diagnostics page.
    • Verify that rows one through four, columns A through I (callout 1) contain hexadecimal numbers.
If these rows and columns are all zero, ensure that the calibration sensor was correctly reinstalled. The sensor must be correctly positioned and fit securely against the chassis before the mounting screws are installed.

Tried replacing the toners? 1 bad toner will cause your issue. Have seen 1 toner do some strange c/q problems, worth a try. Using oem? Compatible? Just something to try before pursuing the sensor.

Thanks, Yea,I've tried replacing the toners, I am dealing with non-OEM toner carts. and non-OEM ITB assembly. seems that is where the problem started, well duh huh. But that is the hand I have been delt. I have tried putting the old ITB back in but no help. I blew off those sensor also no help. What I would like to do is try OEM ITB and cartridges but I don't that will fly with the customer. I don't see a program to do color registration, just the one for density. What do you guys think?

When you do a calibrate now in the hp toolbox software or the menus on the printer it does a density and color plane reg. Also do you see either 54.xx errors or 101.xx in the event log, these are sensor (54.xx) and color plane reg error (101.000). it is possible that you have either a bad color sensor or dc controller(maybe sensor or dc controller got damged when replacing itb.) , but with non oem supplies it does make it difficult. when you print diagnostic page arether 0's or hex numbers in upper left.
