These are compatible cartridges and possibly reman cartridges and it says "this is a Premium cartridge" on the cartridge where it would normally
    say HP.
I suspect these cartridges are not made well and start out okay but after a couple of weeks or month or so they
start to give lines and it gradually gets worse.
The only other thing I can think of is something in the machine is causing the cartridge to get lines. I told customer
I would get him an OEM cartridge and we would monitor it from there. Frank
yes if the customer wants to use compatible carts steer them to the MSE brand... we have had great luck with them and they have a super warranty on their products.

Sometime the power supply starts cooking the transfer roller and toner cartridge with undetected high voltage or something.

    1. Try another toner with a new transfer roller, AT THE SAME TIME. It is important, with this theory, to replace the transfer roller at the same time as the toner because the overcharge or static electricity carries from one contaminated part to the other. If you only replace the toner or the roller, the problem seems to go away for a couple days, then returns.

    2. Replace the HVPS

    3. Replace the DC Controller, aka engine control board.

LJ9040 mfp had line. Changed cartridge which customer had in stock lines disappeared.
A day later customer called and said lines returned. Customer said he was getting the
lines and they would go away for a day o 2 and come back I am thinking possibly fuser
unit may have grooves that sometimes fill in and transfer to paper. Any suggestion are
    appreciated. Frank
