Re: HP 4200n not canceling print job
Could it be this simple?
I was at a high school where some smart kid learned how to set the default number of prints to "99" on every HP printer in the building. It took me about 10 minutes to figure it out, but a bit longer to make the change on all the printers. =^..^=

So by saying it was printing fine, but "lots of pages" do you mean you were maybe asking for one page and getting hundreds of the same page?Leave a comment:

Re: HP 4200n not canceling print job
I remember this ever happening with these machines but I think a firmware update and ram cleaning would require so I would not wish there was a virus in the file that drove the printer crazy. Then I believe you will have reinstalled the correct driver and tried the same file again.
It was printing fine--just a lot of pages.
Aside from FW I am just going to assume this was a fluke for now. Thanks guys!Leave a comment:

Try Deleting the Print que on the computer and turning off the printer and restarting it and canceling the print job if it starts again. Then restart the computer.
What print driver are you using?Leave a comment:

What was printing? A bunch of gibberish, or, an actual print job?Leave a comment:

HP 4200n not canceling print job
I wasted a lot of time a few days ago constantly pressing the cancel job button just for it to come back up over and over again. I couldn't get into the menus or anything even with it off network and multiple restarts.
Never seen this and this was my personal printer that saved be a lot of money getting through graduate school--Hell, I don't think it has ever even jammed once--solid printer.
I ended up going to walmart just to get a ream of paper and just let it run 3/4 of a ream of paper (all the same job).
Anyways is this a thing on these printers or just a fluke? Workaround?
Thanks!
