Hey guys, just got done buying a cloned RM1-0043 swing plate assembly for a 4345mfp and it did not work quite right....the metal 'tongue' that gets pushed by the plastic part in the top close/toner-fuser release linkage is a tiny bit longer, and bent at a sharp angle instead of a gradual bend like the original.
I tried re-shaping the new metal with needle nose to approximate original shape, but it would still JAM UP the actuator linkage for the part when it was being closed, and broke off the retaining pin made of white nylon that attaches the white arm to the black linkage 'pivot link'.
I'd upload pics but the site doesn't like the ones off my phone. I had to take the original 'pivot frame' I'm referring to off the old one, and use it on the new assembly which made the linkage not get stuck anymore and not break the retainer out (tested without retainer then secured with a screw because I don't carry those push-retainers with me, not sure those can be purchased.
I've done this job half-dozen times and never had trouble with OEM part. This is new, so MAKE SURE YOU TEST out the action on your release linkage (open/close top several times) after screwing the plate assembly in and BEFORE re-assembly or you'll be doing it TWICE!
Anyone know where OEM HP part or one that is NOT screwy can be purchased for not too much $$? RM1-0043.
