I was wondering if anyone had problems trying to flash firmware to the T520. the HP site started the process. The boxes popped up showing it was extracting the files. The customer had to enter her password to continue the process, it extracted some more and then it just disappeared. No dialog box that we normally see that sends it showed up, and no icon on the bottom of the screen that shows where it went came up either. I went to the downloads folder and tried to open it from there, and it kept doing the same thing.
I called HP tech support in relation to the original problem, and also asked what was going on with the firmware. Either he didn't \ couldn't understand what I was saying, or he didn't want to tell me. I repeated the query, but it seemed like he was ignoring what I said.
So I don't know if there's some other method I need to know to complete an action that I have done multiple times before without issue.
The original problem was that it wouldn't recognize the roll paper. I did the diagnostics, and it told me 53.1.10 error, replace the out of paper sensor. I did so. It worked at first, then sometime after I left, it started happening again.
I don't understand why it would work, then not, if it was board related. Which is what tech support suggested. That brings me back to the firmware problem. I thought I'd try that in case that was making it goofy and I could avoid ordering a part they might not need (and not want to pay for).
Oh well, that's my conundrum. I am interested if anyone else has run into this. Thank you.
