[Error Code] Hp Designjet 1050C Plotter

    Hello all,

I have a HP 1050C plotter, It is giving me an error code 0B0006, I replaced the Print head drive belt, it was bad. I am still getting this code. Is there a service mode reset for this device?

    Thanks in advance,

    John

John, that code has to do with the trailing cable that you had to undo from the carriage to change the belt. If you did not seat it properly when you put it back together, you blew the fuse. the fuse is at the top of the ops board, on the right side, in the back. Check the fuse, if it is blown, reseat the cables and change the fuse.

That is a code for the trailing cable. Check to see if it is seated properly. Then check it for obvious kinks, wear points or other physical damage.

Be thankful it was simply not seated correctly, I was in the middle of changing that same belt in shop and was called away on another call. My boss thought he'd be helpful and wound up de-laminating the contacts on the end of the trailing cable. We wound up having to replace a rather expensive cable.
