    LJ P3015 tray 1 continuous feed ?

Customer called yesterday afternoon about tray 1 going up and down and pickup roller continually turning. I may need to go there Monday or Tuesday and have just checked the service manual. Would this be a tray 1 solenoid(rk2-1490) sticking or clutch problem.
It looks like it comes as an assembly only.(rm1-6268) . Please advise as to your experience with this problem and the required time if for parts replacement so as to give customer an estimate. Frank/ActionPhotocopy.

Most likely solenoid issue. May be fixable without parts, have had a few where spring pops off and just needs to be re-installed.

I agree with npdog. Solenoid allows the tray to pick up and rollers to turn when engaged and prevents that from happening when disengaged. If you have it picking up and turning all the time, the solenoid is engaged all the time or something is preventing it from disengaging.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!".

The plate was out of position causing solenoid to stay energized. After adjusting position of plate the spring was able to effect its' disengagement. Seems like the SM was asking to remove a lot of unnecessary parts before removal of front right combo panel. Thanks again. Frank
