[Misc] Kyocera p2235dw wireless problem

Hi, my friend has a Kyocera p2235dw, brand new, and is trying to connect with a Mac using wireless. Have connected using USB and works fine, but cannot connect with wireless. When the wireless mode is selected on the printer, how long should the wireless indicator light stay on? When he tries to print a document, the Mac returns 'Printer Paused'. We have tried numerous ways of installing the printer to the Mac but nothing works so far.
Second query, the manual refers to the router password, does the printer have to be linked to the main wireless router by pressing the WPA/WPA2 button on the router? Could this resolve the problems?
Any assistance would be most welcome.

Yes it has to be on same network as Mac, follow wireless setup in printer manual.
