    3552ci loses internal finisher

    Her folks,
I have two 3552ci's that will start jamming everytime going into the internal finisher, basically it's jamming because the machine no longer recognizes the finisher and is trying to output to internal tray. Power off/on doesn't fix. The finisher has to be removed, power cycled, then re-added to finally work. It happens once every 3-6 months. I can have customers slide open the finisher to stop jamming temporarily while they wait for me.

Firmware is up to date, nothing seems bent or broken, double checked to make sure they were installed properly. Anybody else see this happening?

    Thanks,

    Re: 3552ci loses internal finisher

We had one of those internal finishers that would jam, go into an undefined error and isolated the finisher. Our tech recognized that the elevator tray was not homing out properly during initialization. There is another thread here about it. He found that thread.

Sometimes the enduser could just re-close the finisher and power cycle to restore function. Sometimes it would fully isolate the finisher and required a U906 to reset.

That's as much as I know for sure. If I were to take this further I would look at the finisher latches and interlocks, and to make sure that the enduser is closing the finisher properly/completely. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Thanks blackcat! I never even thought to run a U906 because it doesn't display the "function has been disabled" message. If I can't find the root of the problem, at the very least I can use KFS to do a U906 remotely
