Kyocera Fs-2100dn unable to connect to PC

    Kyocera Fs-2100dn unable to connect to PC

    Got this Kyocera Fs-2100dn to service at my shop (Heat roller change), tried to connect it via USB cable
    using the Universal driver from Kyocera but I have been unsuccesful so far.

    I am wondering if there is a dedicated driver for this machine?
    I have two PCs one with win7/64 and the other win10/64 problem is in both
    I have used different USB cables too without success.

      I'd suspect that the USB connector is damaged on the main PWB. Did you try connecting via the network interface?

      And no, it's not a dedicated driver. The Universal will work, if it's able to. =^..^=
      If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

              Yes, when I connect the USB cable the PC detects it.

                  Have you played around with the different USB ports in the driver properties? USB001, USB002 etc? Might be easier to use the Wizard installer vs. pointing to driver file.

                      Good advice and it points to the problem with USB in that every time you plug in you may get a different USB port number and have to change the driver to match.

                      It's OK for dedicated connections where there aren't a lot of changes.

                      Using the Printer Install wizard select the 'choose existing ports' option and select the USB port number it is occupying. (Delineated printer ports can be viewed from the Print Management MMC under the PORTS section)

                      In the Driver step, choose from the manufacturer's driver list for Kyocera and find your device that way. This will give you the MS provided Unidriver selections (this is not the Universal Driver) and any KX drivers in your driver store.

                      The Universal driver is not a 'dedicated to one printer/port driver', it polls available printers using mainly network protocols and I am not even sure it supports USB.
