Ex Xerox engineer has no idea what to do next, printer makes no noise says call service and orange light comes on. any ideas please

Hello,

usually there is an error mesage exactly after turning on the machine. - Stay in front of the machine when restarting it an have a look at the panel!

The machine displays an error message on the operation panel like this:

e.g.:
F010
6610
etc.

it says self test please wait and 12 secs later says call service and orange fault light only numbers are 7200:0013896 which I thought was a phone number.

it magnifies for me just fine. developer thermistor error. replace developer unit. personally i've never seen that code before.
