Re: ECOSYS 3045 showing maintenance
I like choice #2. Buy the good used replacement. You can part out the old one later on, as needed.
In a very high volume situation it will run longer than a low volume situation. That's the only observation that I can offer. =^..^=

Re: ECOSYS 3045 showing maintenance
Customer is needing the machine badly these days, so he asked me to do a reset as if the new MK-3160 is being installed until the maintenance kit has arrived. Then we will follow the procedure coming with the kit as Cat advises.
However, I found by a wholesaler the same machine with only 10k on the clock and great looking. The whole used P3045dn complete, will cost half the price of the MK-3160. What to do? Resetting the customer's printer and we will wait until print quality — which is now still very good — deteriorates and then install the 10k beauty?
How long it will usually take before a resetted printer will begin to develop problems?

Re: ECOSYS 3045 showing maintenance
Go with the kit. There are detailed instructions in the package. it is important to follow the documentation. If resets are not done before service is performed, it can take a very very long time for the empty developing unit to fill itself.
It's not worth it to scrimp on these parts. =^..^=Leave a comment:

actually that's pretty cheap. usually you are looking at $1000+ for a main. kit for copiers. not saying that one would cost that much but yeah.Leave a comment:

ECOSYS 3045 showing maintenance
Regarding Kyocera I'm a certified NOOB..... , so please help.
Customer is telling me that his Ecosys 3045 is showing “Maintenance” in the display. Anything needed beyond the maintenance kit MK-3160? Any reset procedure to observe?
The MK-3160 is rather expensive, any work around by cleaning the charge roller, replacing the take-up rollers and replacing cleaning blade only?
