    T652dn needs TLC

I'm trying to put a t654dn back into working order. It had previously begun to print faintly with a lot of background noise. It then experienced a power surge and burned out the lvps which i replaced. When I got it put back together the print was so faint as mostly unreadable. I tinkered around in the diagnostic menus and managed to somehow introduce a paper mismatch so that the double sided reports would jam with about two inches of paper out the top. Where do I go from here?

BTW I've already replaced the toner cartridge

    I'm located in Ottawa, Ontario

    Thanks

well you can no longer get the lexmark parts from lexmarks for that dinosaur. im guessing you just found the part online? my opinion, best option is to buy a new machine. don't waste your time or money on that antique. if it's been in storage and you are trying to get it back into working order. i would bet it needs at least a new toner, drum, and fuser.

Thanks for your reply. I checked eBay and maintenance kits are available. Another printer of the same capability would cost me quite a bit more than the kit. I'd like to know what i might have done that could have caused the drastic reduction in print quality after I swapped the lvps board and whether it is reasonable for me to install a maintenance kit without any other diagnostic equipment.

Any help would be appreciated or if you're in the Ottawa area let me know.
