Re: XS796 error900 ( firmware ? )
What makes the firmware update difficult? =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: XS796 error900 ( firmware ? )
You need a firmware update. I had that happen on a cs 510. I forget the full update number but it had p70 in the version.
I couldn't find the update on the web. It was a in house fix that lexmark had. You can contact lexmark and load the update on a usb. You are also going to need to monitor the printer for the next 2-3 after.Comment

Re: XS796 error900 ( firmware ? )
900 errors are similar to 49 errors on HP's. If the unit is fine unplugged from the network or PC, then it's a corrupted print job somewhere.
You can still upgrade the firmware, but, note that if the unit has an IPDS card or other accessory card, you'll need to contact Lexmark for the firmware. THAT firmware isn't posted on their website. I had to call them for a customer that had an IPDS card to get the correct firmware (Base, Network, IPDS).Comment

Re: XS796 error900 ( firmware ? )
i have seen this sometimes comes from someone trying to print coupons or stuff you general wouldn't print while at work.... if you can't update the firmware you might try a new print driver. but im leaning more towards the firmware like others have mentioned.Comment
