    Savin CLP 1620 Hard Drive

Pardon my elementary question..... Where is the hard drive located in the Savin CLP 1620. I have owned this machine in our store that sells sewing computers ( Bernina ). I as owner with my wife, act as the IT person for all the printers and computers that we have, plus the sewing computers.
So I am not formally trained in servicing a printer or copier. I am trained on principles of ESD and treat the sewing computers with great respect as well as the printers and copier.
I have replaced numerous components on the CLP 1620 but have not had experience with its hard drive.
On our computers I have replaced 4 hard drives.
So any help with replacing the hard drive on the CLP 1620 will be appreciated. Again the error code was 865.
I have another savin color copier that I am using as a back up.
If someone gives me advice and it happens to prove unuseful or wrong then I am ok with that. it will be a learning experience and I won't sweat the incorrect info.

    THanks

When I viewed the post that I just made I noted that when I chose the state flag ( I paid no attention to this when I filled out the info) that it shows the confederate flag. I do not condon the use of this flag.
I have edited my details to reveal no state flag.
If by choosing to show the state flag I have offended anyone I offer my sincere apologies.

On the rear of the printer is the assembly with the HDD. There are two prominent thumb screws that hold the assembly in place. With the machine unplugged, you can remove the screws and slide the assembly out. The drive is held in by a bracket with one screw. If the drive is failed, you can run it without the drive but will loose some functions (locked printing, etc.)

As a service provider, I would recommend having a trained technician look at it. But ultimately it's up to you.

Also, my mom loves her Bernina!!!
the savin2535 is displaying well bet the hiter lamp is not shining and the lamp had been tested o.k.please kindly help.
Samir: No, not again. I... why does it say paper jam when there is no paper jam? I swear to God, one of these days, I just kick this piece of shit out the window.

Many thanks, Again Many thanks! Tell your mom hello! And tell her to go to her local Bernina Dealer and see the new 830 A marvelous machine 6 years in the making.
We earned an incentive trip to the factory in Steckborn, Switzerland, August 2008. Saw the 830, spent a day sewing on one and toured the factory the next day. I can not say enough about this new machine.
Your comment about the trained tech taking a look at the Savin is well taken and I may in the end have to do that. I will try and see what goes.
        Again many thanks
Thank your mom for being a loyal Bernina customer
        Have a good week end
