MX-2600N freezes menu within a few minutes of startup

    Hi,

Please let me know if you have any suggestions on what might cause this behavior.

If possible, please share the latest firmware with me so that I can try to update the
firmware to see if this will help.

    Thanks

you could start by making sure the cables to the OP panel are connected properly.... then yes firmware

Is this connected to a network?

If so does the lock up occur when network cable is disconnected?

If no, under "network settings" "Protocol settings" make sure "RARP" is disabled.

The cables all seem to be seated. I disconnected and reseated them after blowing them out.

If you have the latest firmware, I would appreciate a copy.

Also, the machine is no longer booting up after connecting it to the network. Leds D10 and D13 flash at a constant rates and the fans spin up but the display screen never lights up. I do get the green standby light on the control panel. The new behavior started after shutting the machine down and connecting it to the network.

Please let me know if you have any other thoughts and whether the machine would accept an emergency usb firmware update if the screen never lights up. Thanks for your help.

The machine was disconnected from the network. I went to connect it to the network to remotely administer the machine and now the machine does not light up the display. The fans spin up but no display.

Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks for your help.

does the machine boot if network cable is unplugged?

After I moved the machine to plug in to the network the machine no longer shows anything on the display regardless of the whether the network cable is plugged in.

I tested both sides of capacitors on the left side of the mfp board and there is a short to ground somewhere. I will try a thermal imager to see if I can find it but I would appreciate direction on the likely potential culprit.

Any ideas why the machine would intermittently have this issue and then short to ground?

              Thanks for all the help.
