    Epson Artisan 1430 Problem

    Hello,
I'm working on an Epson Artisan 1430 printer that was originally having a problem like the attached printout. The first thing I realized was the print head was moving with difficulty. By the time I was ready to start work on it, i realized it flashed Paper Cancel and Cartridge LED continuously the moment it is about to get back to home position.
I thoroughly cleaned the shaft and the pathway and lubricated them with grease. After assembling, the led lights keep on flashing. I'm aware it means obstruction in the pathway. But once it is immediately before the ink pad, and there is no obvious sign of an obstacle, what other areas can I check? Further, what suggestions are available for the output attached? I will be so grateful for your effort. Thanks in advance.

grease is not the lubricant to use on print head rails - try silicone oil and check for bush wear (if the print carriage 'wiggles' on the rail, it is worn and will lock up during travel)
