    Samsung SCX-4521f

    Hello,

On this machine we did replace the Laser unit and return it to the owner in good shape, but now he is complaining about a text line that does appear on every print/copy like on that in the attach.
I have tryed to reset to default settings but still the same problem.
I dont undersatand where the problem is comming from since he doesent have many prints on it.

Hi, thats the test engine values...
    Enter service mode -> Menu # 1 9 3 1
Use cursors to move to "Engine Test" "[Status Print]"
option 1 enables it (and prints what you get on the pages) option 2 turns it off

    Hope that helped

I had something very similar on a SCX-4725. I too had just installed a laser, and got that line of footer text afterwards. After several calls to the hotline, they recommended replacing the PBA main controller, which did resolve the problem.

I would be really curious to try hekotez's suggestion, just to see if that was the problem. I had suggested to the hotline that the figures looked like some sort of hexadecimal values, possible related to engine settings, but they just scoffed at my suggestion. Interesting ...

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
      1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
      2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
      3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
      4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
      5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

You were right on the nail blackcat... what can we say, sometimes hotlines are just experts in throwing us off, even were we have that hunch that puts us on the right track.
Keep us posted about your results Vlad.

That setting was enabled like hekotez sayid and i did disable it but im expecting to come back since the battery is dead, they waited long time before bringing us the machine to replace the LSU, i guess that if they start using it more then the battery will recharge and i wont have to replace it.
Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.

Dont worry it should not enable itself... even with a dead battery... I never had a sammy rep confirm it (i tried but from them i heard pretty much what blackcat did -.- ), but thru my tests i saw that when we replace the LSU unit, the machine somehow detects a new lsu and the activates that function by itself.
I assume its for the tech take a look at those readings and see if they are within the "normal values" tho i never learned (or found out how) to interpret them :/
