    Hi
So many things that could cause this.
First thing to check is that the GBC is completly level with the copier and finisher, if not it will jam.

Also, is this a new install or do you have some "miles" on the machine? We've seen with the Canon's that use a similar GBC punch (same box, different color and mounting hardware) that after a couple hundred thousand that the punch plate within the punch unit starts to drag. After punching out the chad the plate fails to return completely or quickly enough. Also, I've seen were the chads (punched paper hole) build up in numerous places including the backgauge solenoid. Many issues arise from this, including blown driver board and blown punch unit controller board. Typically, though, the linkage in between the solenoid and the backgauge fails to move properly and thus it jams.

However, give us a bit more detail on jam codes listed on the SMC, jam situation (every print or does it jam once in 2, 5, etc. etc.)

One quicky, the reason I quoted FRIDGEMAGNET is becuase the least obvious is the most quickly resolved and can have an immediate impact. The GBC not being perfectly level to the machine in all directions will solve so many problem right off the bat. Also, we've put mylars, cut to size, between the machine exit and the punch entrance to help.

And, lastly, did you install the proper EPROM on the FINISHER???? In order for the finisher to realize the timing is now changed between the machine exit and finisher entrance sensors you have to have the proper EPROM installed.

      Good luck, let us know.

This sounds so much like the calls we get from end users...... 'it jams everywhere'. Not much help with isolating the problem.

Has the copier been moved? (Relates to the GBC being level/aligned to the copier.) Is the punch head old? The punch dies are intended to be replaced periodically. Vacuumed the GBC lately? Lots of crap builds up in the punch area. Make sure the guides are smooth and clean.

Finally, at what point in the GBC paper path is the initial problem showing up. This is where the experience of a service tech comes into play. "Jamming everywhere" is just sooooo soo inadequate for diagnosing where/what the problem is. Does it jam ONLY when punching?
