    Ricoh Aficio MP2550

    Hi...
Got this Aficio MP 2550, it does not power up at all. When I turn on power switch a green light on control panel and a red light on the formmater board comes on. Not a single motor is running, no clicking sound from a relay, its just quite.

If you wait long enough does it eventually code out?
Sounds like a Symptom of SC672.

Check that the MBU board is fully seated on the fax board. Have had this a few times.
Make sure all other options are connected fully (HDD, fax, etc.), you can trouble shoot which one is the problem by unplugging each and rebooting the copier.
Other than that it could be:
      Controller board.
      IPU board.
      BICU board.

It may have a bad polygon mirror motor that has taken out the BICU. Try shining a flashlight across the display panel and check if you can read anything like an SC code.

Checked all components on power supply board. Removed HDD, network card, fuser unit, developer unit. Removed everything except power supply board, switch on machine but no joy still blank screen, no sound, no movement of any motor, just green standby/sleep mode light.

Did you use a flashlight, turn the flashlight on and shine it across the blank screen? Unless there is a lot of ambient light in the room you should see something on the display. Otherwise you no longer have a copier, you have a boat anchor.

                  I have to agree.
I understand that you may well be in Botswana where people throw nothing away( believe me we hear it all the time) but the machine is 12 years old and had a good run.

Hi, it seems like a power supply issue as there's no sense of boot.

If it were a power supply issue, you would not have a green light on the control panel. If you have an engine error such as SC 320 Polygon motor error, the engine will not start, i.e. no motors or anything else. If the polygon mirror motor also took out the BICU, the back light panel for the display will not illuminate.
