    chromebook scanning

I've been searching this website for any forums as well as the internet and saw a lot of info on chromebook printing but nothing specifically on scanning.

I'm simply just wanting to know what my options are for scanning to a chromebook directly from a MP C5503 hardwired on the network. I've told my customer i can't do it but just wanted to do my due diligence of research to be sure.

Use the Store File feature on the Scanner and select Store on HDD only. Log into the WIM, select Print Job/Stored File and select the Document server and download from there. Create a custom program for the scanner and call it Scan to Chromebook so they don't need to select Store to HDD only every time.

Hey thanks! Sorry for the late response.

I will see if the customer likes that...never thought of that...great option.

Hi BSM, I found that as well when I did my brief research, that app seems to only let you connect to existing SMB shares on a Windows PC from your Chromebook, not create an SMB share on the Chromebook.

Yes correct most chromebook have small storage vs Windows or Mac
So you could have scanning to a Windows box and share that with chromebook.
Guess would depend on how much scanning and storage will be required.
