Hello everyone ! I did a firmware update on a Ricoh mp301 and now it doesn't work. I turn the power switch on and it's just remains at the "please wait" screen. Any ideas of what that might be ?

Re: Firmware on a mp301
practically if I understand correctly, did you update, and immediately did the problem?
if so, the same thing happened to me on an mpc2004ex a year ago, if you've already done what copier tech says, and it didn't work, try this:
on start-up type [clear] + 1 + 4 + 3 + cancel (5 times), and then try to reload only the "system copy""loneliness is an invention of the white man, when we are alone we talk to everything around us, we are never alone" (Ojibwa)Comment

Re: Firmware on a mp301
i am guessing you know the proper slot to install the firmware update from? though i have never tried it, my understanding is it can cause issues if not done in the proper way. that was one of the first things i learned as a ricoh tech.Comment

Re: Firmware on a mp301
It can only be done from the lower slot. If firmware (romdata) card is installed in the wrong slot, the machine doesn't even recognize it and will just boot up normally. In short, installing the card in the wrong slot will not cause a problem.Comment
