SFTP how to setup on Ricohs

    Hi
I need a Ricoh expert with SFTP setup. Willing to pay for a class or lesson even its remote.

I have Ricoh copiers and clients that want to scan using SFTP.

Please reach out if you know how to set this up and I am willing to do a remote class for this.

    Thanks
    K

Re: SFTP how to setup on Ricohs

    Hi

I haven't done a sftp setup on a Ricoh machine yet but from what I've read the setup procedures are very similar to ftp. I have done a few ftp setups previously using Filezilla .

Your best bet would be to first setup for ftp. Use Filezilla. You can Google a "how to setup scan to folder using ftp Filezilla"

Once that's done look up setting up sftp. It should be 2 or 3 small changes on the Filezilla settings.

    Hope this helps

      1 more thing

If I may ask, why aren't you using ftp instead?

Because anonymous FTP is not secure. The S in SFTP stands for Secure.

Most of the setup for Secure FTP is done at the server not the MFP. Is the customer wanting to use a Secure cloud service? If so, the support people with the service are your best place to get help. If they are wanting to setup a local Secure FTP server that software company is who you need to be talking to. If they want you to setup the server for them, Run. If they haven't selected a software yet I would suggest FileZilla Secure. There is lots of on line support for setting up FileZilla Secure. FileZilla Secure | Dedicated to keeping your FTP passwords secure.

If the customer has any Windows servers onsite, FTPS can be configured using IIS.

Installing a secure FTP server on Windows using IIS :: WinSCP

Keep in mind that SFTP and FTPS are not the same thing. They both encrypt the data, just in slightly different ways.
