    Lanier 5635 Duplex Help!

Hello everyone, I had service call for Lanier 5635 about making double side copy. This copier has Duplex. I try to open the door on the Duplex and the copier give me alarm. So, the Duplex is working. But when I try to make double side copy, I hit (Combi/Series copy) option on the LCD. It give all option but 2 side to 2 side.
Is there a option to turn off/on for Duplex? Please help. Thanks

I don't know if I completely understand your issue. Are you trying to get double sided original to double sided copy to show up as on option on the display?
If so, under User Tools and Copier/Document Server Features there should be an option to change the function key shortcuts on the display.

Hi Rthonpm, yes, that's what I am try to do. what you said is to make a shortcut on the display. I did go in there and try to turn the shortcut on. But the weird thing is I can turn on any options but the option 2 side to 2 side is "grey out". Anyway, if I am not wrong, that only make a shortcut on the display. If there are no shortcut then all I need is hit "Combi/series copy" then all the option should be in there. I know, because I installed one of this model before. So, any ideal?

You may either have a bad hard drive or there may not be one installed in the machine.

When they went to this model and those afterward the options such as duplex and finishing were produced by the hard drive as I guess it needed that memory to perform the function.

        Give that a check.

Hi jimbo, I think that is the problem. I have to come back and check on that. But, I remmeber they was say some thing about last time they had a problem and the technician took the HDD off the machine then everything ok. So, what kind of HDD should I put in there and do I have to install any system software into the HDD? Because right now, the copier work fine. Thanks

20 GB. if the machine works fine what did you do? i guess your problem is just around the user tools settings....
fix the customer first then fix the machine... its simple and makes life more easy.

Well, I came back today and jimbo1 was right, there is no HD in the copier.

@imginemoko, what i mean is the machine work fine except make a double side copy. So, if I put the HD in there do I have to load system software into it? or just format and put in there.

              Thanks.

Install it and there is a formatting in the service mode. The sim escapes me now but it only takes a second.
