Paper Jam sensor on SP C410 DN

Im having a paper jam message from the bottom tray and no paper is found anywhere, also used some air to blow out all the dust that might be there. Nothing helps the message appears right away even before the rollers try to feed paper.

My question is. Is there a sensor somewhere that might be bad or dirty so it gives of the message. The printer works from the bypass shelf normally.

    Thank you

Sounds like the paper feed clutch has failed.

can you tell me where can this part be located on the printer. Do you think i could check this part if it's good or bad?

      Thank you

well the parts manual was a bit crappy. But if you pulled out the tray and find the Feed Roller you could trace the feed roller shaft to the clutch. Probably gotta remove some covers.

Best way to Test it. Can draw a line on roller. Reinsert tray. Try feeding paper. Remove tray, inspect roller to see if it moved. The line should be moved. Can also put toner on roller and see if toner rubs off on paper.

Check out the cork pad on the paper tray plate.
Empty the tray and move the plate up and down manually... does the cork pad hit anything?

Over time when the paper runs out the feed roller touches the cork pad as it's still turning forcing the pad over the edge of the plate by 1/2mm.
This is enough for the pad to catch the edge of sep pad holder, as a result the paper does not always contact the feed roller when the paper level is low.

            Instant / intermittent mis-feeds!

I've seen this happen on lots of these models and last time I looked there was no RTB issued about it and lots of techs miss it.
