MP9000 Scan settings TIFF to PDF

How do you make the default scan settings PDF? It is currently TIFF.

When we try and change it on the copier , from the Control Panel we see,

    Scanner Features
    Initial Setttings
    (Menu Protect(greyed out)) Level 2

The greyed out Menu Protect is preventing us from making any changes.

Also what does the Level 2 mean?

    Thanks,

Configure the scan settings as though you were actually going to send a file (File Type, Resolution, Scan size etc) from the scanner front end, not user tools. Then press the program key and select 'Program as defaults'. If Administrator Authentication is enabled you will be required to login.

Sorry, forgot to answer the second part, Then I had to RTFM.

Scanner Menu Protect Level 2 means that the following settings can only be viewed by users only the Machine Administrator can change them.

Switch Title. Twain Standby Time, Destination List Display Priority, Destination List Display Priority 2, Print & Delete Scanner Journal, Delete Scanner Journal, Scan Settings A.C.S Sensitivity Level, Wait Time for Next Orig.: Exposure Glass, Wait Time for Next Originals SADF, Send Settings Compression (Black & White), Compression (Gray Scale), High Compression PDF Level, E-mail Information Language, Note of Digit for Single Page Files, Stored File E-mail Method,
