i have a problem about aficio mp 2000le printer. i already tried to install it but it doesn't print. the machine has already been detected by the computer.it is a usb type printer. and i'm using ddst for its driver. but then it still does not work please help me to make this machine work

you may not have usb printing enabled on the copier. you can check by this sequence. press ctrl panel reset (yellow button) 1 0 7 and hold clr/stop for approx 3 sec. select "copy sp" section 5 address 985 number 2 (5-985-002) and set to 1 (maybe on 0)

I'm not familiar with this model, but a few things I would want to know are: Are you a technician? Do you have a service manual for this printer? What version of windows are you using? ( 98SE\ME, NT4.0. 2K ) What happens when you try to print? Does the data light on the machine light up? What do you mean you tried to install it? The printer, the driver? What else can you tell us?

i have tried to install the machine with the driver for mp2000le that i download at the net. and i am using win xp as my os.

when i try to print a document it just dont get any reaction in the printer. it doesnt print it, but the printer is detected

I like the fact that you ignored my first 2 questions to you. Did you do as slybot suggested? Are you using an USB 2.0 cable? When you installed the driver did you select the port to be USB? Is this a new machine or used? If used did it print before? What about using the NIC interface?

it is an old machine. yes it worked properly in the past, but then when i install it in on win xp it always say "error". and still i dont know where the problem is. yep i am using usb 2.0 cable for the machine.
and i select the port to usb when i install it..

what maybe the problem of the machine why it doesnt print.?

oh by the way i`m just a newly graduate as a technician in computers not in a printer. so i`m asking help. and i dont have any manual of mp2000le printer.

You just graduated as a computer technician and you don't know what it means when you get " error " when you're installing a driver? What driver are you using and where did you download it from? Please be specific. When it worked before, what OS and driver were being used ? Was it printing from USB then?

yeah it worked before. and it was given by my brother because he went to abroad to work.yeah it was printing in usb before. but know it wont print anything

Are you sure that this printer has the pcl option installed on it? Have you tried using the DDST Printer driver, or the DDST plc5 driver? Did you ask your brother how he set it up? OH BTW, this will be my last response to you as I was trying to help you, and I DON'T need to get attitude from someone that I'm helping for free as I don't put up with paying customers giving me attitude.
