    Cover is open..close indicated cover

OK PROS..I AM A TRAINED TOSHIBA TECH, BUT AM WORKING ON A TOSHIBA 901 THAT IS A 90 CPM RICOH. MAYBE A MP9000
THE DISPLAY SCREEN SHOWS A PICTURE OF THE COPIER WITH THE MESSAGE..." COVER IS OPEN..CLOSE INDICATED COVER" BUT NO COVER IS INDICATED ON THE SCREEN BEING OPEN. DOES RICOH ROUTE COVER SWITCHES ELSEWHERE IN THE COPIER? HOW CAN I TROUBLESHOOT TO WHICH COVER IS OPEN.. THIS IS IN THE COPIER 'CAUSE I UNPLUGGED ALL ACCESSORIES.. IS THIS REALLY A COVER SWITCH OR SOME POWER SUPPLY ISSUE.. IT DOESEN'T SAY DOOR OPEN .. IT SAYS COVER IS OPEN.

First, I would try replacing all front door safety switches, I have seen similar problems with them in the past.
Don't take that toner with me!

      Check 24v power.
When it is cut off the main board sees it as door open.
      Possible blown fuse.
Why do they call it common sense?

If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?

        fixed

There is a row of 6 front door switches. They all metered ok, but # 5 (going from left to right) had a bad connector. Cleaned inside connector with small knife blade.. problem solved.

            Door Open

You are lucky to receive the door open error. Cleaning these switches only works temporarily. To Avoid getting false jamming mysterious SC codes and a number of other symptoms do yourself a favour and replace the switches. I have experienced many problems including Paper lift motor lock errors BICU communication errors False Jamming etc.... that have been solved by replacing these switches.
            Cheers
