Fax not registering on MP C3002

I have a mp c3002 that has a fax unit on it, that we know works. When you hit the home button there is no fax icon. But when you hit the user tools button facsimile features shows up.Why can i not access it from the home screen?

Because unless it came factory installed, yo have to add it to the home screen. It is in the manual.
