Antivirus is not needed, Windows has has it built in since Win 7.

it s not the scan delay it is the time that it takes for gmail to allow authentication of device after sending you a email warning:"suspicious activity"

Again, with 2 step verification enabled,, you will not get that message and there is no delay with delivery.

Here is the one I have for KonicaMinoltas, just in case.

    Scan to Gmail.pdf.

Re: Gmail smtp email access question.

so i went into 2 step and found this
Protect your account with 2-Step Verification
Each time you sign in to your Google Account, you'll need your password and a verification code. Learn more

So i will have to use a verification via phone on every gmail loggin?

Sound s ike you're actually using a web browser from your phone to access your Gmail?
    Is that correct?

If you configure and sync your Gmail to a mail app, it will never need to be re-entered, and also nothing will need to be done if an app is already synced with Gmail and 2-step verification is enabled later.

Windows built in protection is crap. Everyone I know who has been hit with a ransom virus was using Windows built in protection.

Re: Gmail smtp email access question.

i have both my I PHONE and laptops configured to my gmail accounts.
I usually use my laptop to configure scan setting via WIM.
I had one gmail account already configured with 2 step and it will not scan nor give me a phone code/warning.
I configured a 2nd gmail account and that does not allow scanning either..My master account for gmail is the one i use everyday and
that i did not want to change to 2 step as i worry about shutting off less secure apps on machines already working
