    Exporting/importing SMB shares, new location

    I’m doing a file server migration soon at a small office and they have three Konica units (C454 ) that have maybe 20 SMB scan locations per machine that I’d rather not retype into each one.
    Can I export the address book to CSV, do a find and replace and just swap the old server name with the new one? I think I’d still have to click into each one to update the password but beats entering all the other info.

    Will that work or is there another efficient way to do this?

    backup the machines addy book and settings, set aside (just in case)

    DL the addy book in .csv, open in Excel and do a find and replace from old servername/IP to the new one.
    save.
    import to copier.
    exactly. you got it.

    In the following link it mentions on the subject of:

    Exporting information to an SMB sharing folder

    Saving the setting information of this machine (Export)

    Thanks! Will passwords need to be re-entered manually after or will they import too?

    If Konica is like Ricoh and saves their address book to the HDD, you might want to save those backups just in case.

    Trying to ward off what I think is going to be a problem for you...C454 was out around Server 2008 (or even earlier) If you are upgrading to anything current you will not get these C454 to scan to SMB without lowering the server security (SMB 1.0) I would hope you have taken tbis into account, E

    Yea unfortunately I have SMB 1.0 enabled still but I was hoping to phase it out after this server migration. I made a mistake on the model though. The models at this office are two Bizhub 808's and a 458. The firmware seems newer on these so hopefully the will allow me to disable SMB 1.00

    With these models you should have no problems with disabling SMBv1.

    FYI I didn't have to re-enter the passwords. They imported just fine. Easy.
