What device do you use to cheat interlock switch, door switch and others. Many would not stay put would not fit properly and sometime would even damage the switches if not used correctly. want to hear what you guys use. If you have pics that would be better.

Thank you all for the reply. The vinyl tubing works excellent, but must be at least half inch in width. i tried a smaller size but it twist easily and falls out. paper works , but tend not to stay and you have to cut the paper in the correct size ect.

My trick is to take a tie wrap and bend it in half in a bow pattern with the grip side facing outwards and wrap a piece of electrical wire on the ends. This works very good.
I use these everday and hates when they slip or keep slowly sliding out and not stay in place. the tie wrap can be thin and will fit in any hole and most likely you would have in your bag if you need a cheater quickly. i should post a pic. this tool, and yes it is an essential tool, saves a lot of time wasting.

Others may have their own design, please share if you have something ingenious

I have a folded zip tie as well, folded the same way (no tape though)

The softish tubing seems to hold in place best.

For years I used 3/8" (10mm) ID vinyl tubing. Bit by bit is been trimmed and used for other things (from 6" down to nothing), until it is completely gone. Recently I dug through my tubing box, and found a very nice 4" length of 3/16" (5mm) ID fuel line. It's very soft, and works better than the vinyl. Like subaro suggests, the best OD is about 1/2" (13mm). =^..^=

Here are two of my cheaters i use every day. these do not slip. i can squeeze it to fit any size hole and adjust easily. I tried many things, but so far these work the best.

Those do work really well, unfortunately I broke the last one I had a few years ago.
(SF7300? The Lanier equivalent was the 6213 series.)
