Question HP desingjet T2300 Firmware Error - Code 79.04

We actually changed the drive belt and a brand new carriage assembly. The machine booted normally to the ready for paper stage and machine does not accepts paper when loaded. without any computer connected to the machine results in the carriage assembly going thru the "getting ready to print" and when I tray to load paper from roll #1 or roll #2 machine goes in to power restart and code 79.04 comes up.

    Your help would be appreciated,

    Thank you,

well .. have you tried updating firmware? that is the generic HP explanation for that code..

now.. (not sure on this model) can you see any lights on the formatter bd? some you can see 3 lights.. the pattern of the lights can tells us the prob..

have you checked in menu what paper size?

    any other errors listed?

If you replaced the carriage then I would say the trailing cable isn't connected correctly or is damaged. Or, you have a bad carriage. Updating the firmware is unlikely to solve anything. Remove the trailing cable and check both ends for damage.

Congratulations on your success. The 79.04 error will occur anytime an unexpected event occurs, like another error condition or even a jam. So its not really an indication of anything specifically.

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
